Exercise

Well being is the goal.

This unique, collaborative effort is led by the horse & exceeds the "secret sauce" claims of big machine companies.

We listen with our hands.

Practiced palpatory tactics--fueled by science and intuition-- acquire distinct results.

This is not Vet med.

Developed under vets, scientists & bodyworkers, this method facilitates the body's natural return to ease.

*We  are committed to staying at or below the market rate of therapists with comparable education, training, & experience.  Rates are reasonable because this work is most beneficial when done regularly.  Please ask about discounted plans.

Benefits

Healthy muscular development can only occur with comfortable & efficient movement.  This work utilizes various modalities to foster that.  Some of the observed benefits are as follows:

  • Enhances whole body health
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Reduces swelling in joints
  • Refines proprioception
  • Develops focus in sport
  • Increases range of motion
  • Improves muscle tone
  • Promotes relaxation
  • Speeds healing
  • Frees up movement

 The Science

PEMF:
The injured cell develops an electrical imbalance that creates an inefficient membrane metabolism. The membrane is the protective wall of the cell.  Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy affects the relationship between positive and negative ions surrounding the cell.  This re-establishes the membrane potential.  This reinforced membrane creates a battle cry for more oxygen & nutrients. The body responds with increased microcirculation (bringing more energy to the cell), and more fibroblasts (which generate materials to repair damaged tissue).

Photobiomodulation (LLLT):
Muscle fatigue results in a variety of complex physiological systems. The healthy body requires a rebooting post exercise. LLLT stimulates this rebooting in many ways. Mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell) absorb the light energy to generate muscle repair; and ATP increases.  ATP is the energy required for muscle contractions. Additionally, the body's rebuilding process will be in a phase of cell proliferation after LLLT, generating more fibroblasts and collagen to expedite the metabolic and structural changes needed for high functioning muscles.

Bodywork:
Manual therapy increases blood flow to restricted muscles and improves circulation of the lymph system—the network that transmits infection-fighting white blood cells throughout the body. It relaxes the muscles, which in turn reduces nerve compression.

    Etiology of Somatic Dysfunction

    Diagram: Fryer, G; Fossum, C

Work, conformation, and habitual or compensatory postures create stressed muscles.  Atmospheric changes, micro-traumas & allergies can lead to dysfunction.

Purposeful prep & recovery are essential for advanced training and injury prevention.
